WE have a 3505DI Mahindra (love it) It now has about 350 hours an has given no trouble. I think for the money it can,t be beat. 35 HP for $10,000 US TexasBill ....

I have a 4110 model w/112 FEl and a Bradco 511, 11 ft digging backhoe. With the exception of front bucket url, it is a great machine. I did complain to Mahindra and dealer which in turn and through many 3 way phone calls, it was determined to open the curl circuit from 18 to 35 thousands. It is so cold here, the oil just couldn't make it through the curl section. It was taking 25 plus seconds to dump a load of snow. Now at idle, it takes about 8 seconds. Had the 50 hour service done. No issues, no repair/replacements not even loose bolts. Great tractor for the money. ....

I know the problem. If I don't use the loader every few minutes, oil in the cylinders cools and then the bucket sort of eases down in slow motion when put into float. I use multi-season hydraulic oil and still experience that sort of thing. You might change to a multi-season if you haven't already, and your dealer probably could make a recommendation.
One thing I'd be aware of is that next summer the loader may have a pronounced pause when dumping heavy loads. I'm assuming that the larger diameter orifice is on the shaft or dump side of the circuit and that the loader doesn't have a fast dump feature.
Flow restrictions are sometimes placed in dump circuits to reduce oil cavitation in the piston side of the cylinder when dumping heavy loads. What happens is that after a little hydraulic nudge, the weight of a load will dump itself and expel oil out of the shaft side of the cylinders into the return line. With heavy loads this happens faster than the pump can supply oil to the piston side of the cyliners. The load dumps, weight is off the bucket and the bucket sits and waits for the pump to catch up.
The effect is more an aggravation than a serious problem and running a tractor at higher rpm when doing heavy loader work minimizes the pause. Of course, the pause doesn't happen when using a fast dump feature, which is something I don't have.

I do know that Mahindra engineer, KMW engineer and the dealer went over this time and again for near two weeks before telling the dealer to drill the dump circuit only. I didn't mention above, the 25 second curl to dump was at 2100 rpm's. It was not satisfactory to me at all. Granted I run a JD 710 throughout the winter months and some of that has rubbed off where I expect more from this small machine than it can produce. THe rest of the machine operates fine, no problems, no complaints. My biggest hang up with all these compacts is trying to get use to the rated 2600 rpm's. To me, it sounds like a siren screaming more than a 2 liter diesel. There was a long thread about this somewhere on here. Even though the professionals like Art White, who took the time to explain why it is and how come, I appreciate their explanations, I still have a hard time with the high rpm's. In time maybe I'll get use to using it rpm's a little higher and higher as we go. Getting back to dump curl, about 8 seconds in this zero weather and that is just off idle. ....

If you think 2600 is screaming the 3200 RPM's on the BX series would send you over the edge.
Our lubricating oils are so much better now that I don't worry about wearing engines out. I am new to diesels, but I know of several high revving 4 cylinder gas engines that are pushing 200K mileage. ....

owned many a tractor trailer unit before getting sick and having to get out of the business, Had mostly 3406 engines. I run part time now (mostly full time in winter) 710's, 230's and 624/44.. All run at 1100/1600 for torque curve. Listiening to a L48 run at 2500 and for some reason didn't sound like it was screaming like my 4110. 3200 would definitely send me over the edge. Just taking me a long time to accept and get use to much higher rpm machines. ....
